Now that the abatement process has been completed, we are able to move into the demolition phase of the building project. The demo contractors will be salvaging materials on the inside of the building this week, the week of May 10. The exterior demolition is scheduled to begin the week of May 17. Equipment on-site will include an excavator, waste haulers, and storage trailers. The demolition is expected to last several weeks.
A groundbreaking ceremony with the Library Trustees and local officials will be held at 11am on June 15, weather permitting. Members of the public are welcome to attend, but as space is limited, attendance will be available by registration only. Registration will be available on our website calendar beginning the week of June 1. There will not be parking available on the property for that event, but we are encouraging attendees to walk to the location and parking will be available at the current Library lot.
