UPDATE: The winners have been selected and contacted. Thank you to everyone who participated!
National Library Week is upon us! This year, we're feeling extra excited as we approach the 1st anniversary of our new building at 411 South Main Street. So, we cooked up something extra sweet to celebrate!
Each day during National Library Week (Apr 7-13), we'll be hiding a stuffed birthday cake (sorry, not a real cake) in a different place around the Library. If you spot it, fill out the entry form found at its secret location to win some pretty sweet prizes: gift cards to local restaurants, library swag, and more! Participants must have a Helen Plum Library card to be eligible to win.
Here are some helpful hints to clue you in on where the cake plushie may be hiding each day:
Sun, Apr 7
The first Lombard library was a house
Once owned by Helen and her spouse.
Mon, Apr 8
I’m hiding near some of our oldest stuff
Learning local tales like a history buff.
Tue, Apr 9
Helen and Stephanie share a last name
Though one is of fictional mystery fame.
Wed, Apr 10
Sugar, flour, eggs, frosting,
Cake baking is fun (if a little exhausting).
Thu, Apr 11
Chillin’ with my friends in grades 6-12
Near award-worthy books you won’t want to shelve.
Fri, Apr 12
Happy Birthday to the building at 411 S. Main
I’m celebrating with picture books in the same vein.
Sat, Apr 13
National Library Week may be coming to an end
But our staff will always have good things to recommend.
