Assistant Director

Helen Plum Library seeks a community-minded, innovative problem-solver with public library management experience to serve as its next Assistant Director. 

The ideal candidate will:

• Provide excellent public library service to stakeholders

Helen Plum Library is a mid-sized suburban public library that serves over 43,000 residents. Since opening our new facility in 2023, our local impact has grown significantly. Now that the building project is complete, we are in the exciting position of beginning a learning and assessment cycle as we determine next steps for our organization to better serve our community.  

Minimum Qualifications: MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution; 5 years previous public library experience; 3 years public library managerial experience 

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours a week.  

Salary Range: $82,168 – $102,710 annually, depending on qualifications. $102,710 is the midpoint of the pay grade. Starting at or above the midpoint is reserved for candidates who exceed minimum qualifications and have significant relevant experience.
