Progress on Lombard's new Library continues as the final steel shipment was delivered!

At the March 15, 2022 Board Meeting, Executive Director Claudia Krauspe presented a summary of the multiple intergovernmental agreement (IGA) considerations regarding the possible disposition of the Library's Maple Street properties.

Progress on The New Helen Plum Library is coming along as construction is completed on the public elevator tower and East stairwell.

As we wind up the first year of our building project, with construction scheduled to be completed at the end of next year, Helen Plum Library shared a progress update on the New Building Project in four different virtual sessions on September 29 and 30, 2021.

During the summer of 2020, Helen Plum Library surveyed the community as a key to understanding our current strengths, which services we provide are most valued by our community, and to pinpoint areas of focus for future growth.

Now that the abatement process has been completed, we are able to move into the demolition phase of the building project. The demo contractors will be salvaging materials on the inside of the building this week, the week of May 10.

We are proud to have partnered with the Lombard Fire Department to provide a training site at the soon-to-be-demolished buildings on the site of our future Main Street location!
